Outpost CrossFit Sexual Abuse/Assault Awareness Fundraiser
Ready. Set. Go ! Some run, some walk, and some did the work out or combination of activities thereof. And certainly, everyone had a great time to raise fund and bring awareness to sexual abuse. This is such an under-represented cause that is difficult to discuss and deserves support. Outpost CrossFit has chosen to support the Lake County Children's Advocacy Center and Zacharias's Center in order to address three major steps in the process: disclosure, prosecution, and healing.

Debra and Kenneth is such an amazing couple. I absolutely loved working with these two ! Our session started off in a bridge, were I had them interact at one another. At first, they were a bit tense. Soon enough, they've relaxed and those beautiful moments started to flow. Did I mentioned that Ken has this crazy obsession with Spiderman? Surely he does, as such, that he even got a spiderman tattoo on his forearm. How cool is that ! Fall is Deb's favorite season. And guess what, their wedding is this coming Fall. Debra and Kenneth, I can't wait to document that special day for you.

One by one, they gave their speech and then handed her the candle. Each time she received a candle, she would add it to her cake so that by the end of the ceremony, there would be 18 candles for her to blow out and make a wish.

Filipinos in Lake County, IL and surrounding areas certainly certainly know how to prepare and celebrate Christmas 2013. It was a nine days of Novena masses celebrated in 11 participating churches around the Lake County Catholic archdiocese cluster. Special 'thanks' to the Lake County choir for sharing their angel's voices, the coordinator(s) for each participating churches and making sure everything moves fluidly, the performers for keeping us entertained, and all who came and join in the celebrations. The lumpia, pancit, and other Filipino delicacy was plentiful. I am so privileged and so 'thankful' to experience all of these wealth of Filipino traditions.

I had a great time photographing Kevin and Gigi's wedding ! It was sunny with some clouds and the temperature was in the mid 70's -- perfect ! Their wedding day started with Kevin playing a few rounds of basketball with the guys; And the rest of the day unfolds after that. We shot their Spring engagement session in downtown Chicago. It was one of those cold and slightly windy days in the city, but we made it work. Both of them were troopers with the cold and stuck it out. Anyway, we had a great time strolling around the city and captured some really nice Spring blooms.

The Walking on Sunshine prom was a little subdued than your average prom and lots of supervision by people who know how to deal with these special students.
Local businesses chipped in to donate flowers, dresses, tuxedos, and food. Bonnie Brook golf course hosted the prom.

What an exciting night full of fun, entertainment and great DJ music by Mr. Jun Paredes. This event was primarily a fundraising for St. Anastasia School. Of course, plenty of performances such as a Hawaiian dance performed by Melanie, then followed by the coronation of Ms. Valentines 2013, a serenade of Ms. Valentine afterwards from a very talented singer Jun Paredes, and many more ...and it seems like the night just never ends. Ohhhh btw, I love the whistle blower as well.
The best part is the first prize raffle draw of 'One Week Family Vacation' which I unfortunately, did not win. Oh well, maybe next year. This was definitely an early Valentine's Day treat for those who can make it.

The forecast that day was supposedly around 50 degrees. Heck the weatherman was a bit off the chart; it was cold and windy, and we were in Milwaukee, which probably figures. But, I really didn't mind the winter weather because the photowalk was a worthy cause for those victims in need. In addition, I was hanging-out with such a fine and talented group of photographers. ...And the photographs everyone in the group took was just simply phenomenal.

Team Rehab Potential is our 2012 NIFABL Summer and Winter basketball league team. Outstanding teamwork from the players on and off the court. More importantly, I can't recognize enough the extraordinary support from our family, friends and sponsor. I am truly proud of them.
What made this event so special? The band and singers were great and THANKS for sharing your awesome talent to us. The kiddos had lots of fun playing the apple eating race and the banana dance for the grown-ups was HILARIOUS...LOL ! The party will not be complete without dancing to the tune of the popular GANGNAM style dance. And at the end of the night, the GUYS just have to let it all out and show their singing talent on the stage with the band. Truly AMAZING !

I'm so fortune to belong to the Northern Illinois Filipino-American Basketball (NIFABL) League serving in the committee as a photographer. I am also an active player and very passionate about the sport. I wanted to be like Michael Jordan...lol. The great thing about this season is that we added volleyball and the midget division (funny...but this is what we named our little league teams). I am very impress by all the extraordinary efforts of our committee members and participants. I am very proud of you guys !

Silvestre P. Elefante, a resident of Gurnee, died Sept. 8, 2012, at the age of 93. He was born Sept. 1, 1919 in the Philippines to Luis and Eulalia Elefante. Silvestre was a veteran having served as a member of the USAF-Philippines during World War II.
